Data management systems
The topic of data management systems was raised in a number of public submissions. This can be summarised as applying a standardised approach to identifying, coordinating and organising agricultural statistics in a nationally consistent way. This includes the development and adoption of data standards, such as a standardised system for coding survey respondents and rules for data sharing.

One submission suggested that efficiencies may be gained from aligning the NASIS with the System of Environmental Economic Accounting for Agriculture (SEEA AGRI) being developed by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.
